WITH THE CHAPTERS

The Carolinas Chapter of the AWA Inc.(CC-AWA)
The AWA has an email reflector that I'll bet not many members know about. It was founded on Oct 12, 1998 and almost every week I get a message from a long time AWA member who has just discovered it. In case you don't know what an email reflector is, I'll explain. Once you become a member of such a reflector, you'll be able to send an email to a single address and it will be distributed automatically to all the members. As I'm writing this in late February of 2008 there are 336 members. In other words, with just one email you can send a message to 336 other folks that have similar interests. Messages about AWA activities, items wanted, items for sale, questions about history or help with a restoration project are welcome, But no spam please! Our reflector was originally part of egroups, which was then bought by Yahoo, so now it's a Yahoo Group. There are literally thousands of special interest groups on Yahoo. You can search these at http://groups.yahoo.com/ There are Yahoo Groups for just about any special interest you could think of.

If you would like to join the AWA email group all you have to do is send a email message to; antiquewirelessassociation-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Please include a comment that will let me know that you really are a person with a genuine interest in antique radio. As list manager I will get a message telling me that you want to join and asking for my approval. There's nothing snobbish about this approval. This step is necessary to prevent spam bots from getting in and mining all of the group's email addresses. Once you become a member you can access the group's web page and customize your setup to either receive individual emails every time someone posts a message or get messages in a daily digest where all the messages of that day are listed together. Group membership is not just for AWA members, it's open to anyone with a interest in old radios. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
